One of the first things our agents will do before putting your house on the market is prepare your house for sale. He or she will want to show your house off in its best light to maximize your earning potential. Our agent will tour your house with the eye of a buyer - what works, what doesn't work.
Curb Appeal Welcome Home Our agent can help you eliminate anything that gives the appearance of clutter. Countertops should be free and clear. Knickknacks, souvenirs, family photos, refrigerator artwork - it's gone. We need to "de-personalize" the house so buyers can imagine it as their home. Closets and cupboards should appear large and roomy. It's time to make a donation to a local charity or store belongings at a friend's or family member's home. Reviewing your home room-by-room, our agent will make recommendations that impact the sale. He or she may point out the pieces of furniture that should be removed, rooms that need new paint, carpet that needs to be changed, fixtures that need polishing, windows that need cleaning, and any other improvement that can easily be made to promote the sale. Setting the Stage Remove Clutter Take s step back and look at your home, are you able to see the size of the rooms, kitchen cabinets, (if not then you need to remove the clutter) Start in the Kitchen, remove everything from the counter tops, (except decorative items) Put everything in the cupboards & pantry. Put rarely-used dishes, pots & pans in to storage. Check under the sinks make sure they are neat, all extra cleaning supplies should be put away. check for water leaks; these may cause a buyer to hesitate in buying your home. Clean out your Closets, put extra clothes & shoes in storage. You do not want your closets to looked cramped. Storage areas keep basement, garage, attic & shed as empty as possible. This will help the buyers picture what they would use the space for. When selling your home think of it as a commodity, property, real estate, become detached, make it look anonymous. This will help the buyers to picture themselves in the home, it will also help you with packing for the move. The Buyers will open closets, cabinets, & drawers to make sure that there is enough space for their items before the move in. |
